Love is a form of madness but it is essential to refresh valuesI am 61, but I look 93, not really but I felt 35 for a few recent weeks. I used to date lots of women when I was in my twenties and thirties but I only fell in love twice thank goodness. I married for all the wrong reasons (not love!!) aged 34 and now divorced since 1992 I have a dear daughter who earned a degree and is now studying at law school. I had 2 physical relationships; 2003 for a few months and 2007 for maybe a year. Neither were particularly happy and I even thought at one point I was going impotent! That is until I met the most beautiful woman who ticked all my boxes! I first saw her in a coffee shop around 18 months ago, and apart from a smile and brief hello we didn't connect further. Just over 3 weeks ago I was sitting outside yet another coffee house and she walked past and said hello. We exchanged a little small talk and she disappeared. Within 5 minutes she came back and asked if I would like her number. I was stunned as I have never rated myself, even in my heyday, and as I said she was very pretty. Our first 'date' was at her flat; soft lights and candles and when I walked into her hallway I put my arms around her and kissed her hair and we stayed like that for what seemed an age. It was like returning to a lost love; quite amazing and exhilarating. It was love at first sight and I also discovered I am in no way impotent, just very choosy!! Although this is 'secret' I would say that whilst we were fairly intimate we never made love, although it was promised for a more appropriate time. She has now decided to go back to her partner and I am devastated. That hollow feeling in the stomach and the heartache that goes with it. She was 48 and looked 38. She was petite, brunette, softly spoken, intelligent, non-smoker and very highly sexed. It was love at first sight 18 months ago and she reversed the clock for me. It was also a relief not to check out any other women anymore. Pure bliss for 3 weeks only. Bummer
